A Dealer From Maine Accidentally Calls Police Officer To Set Up Drug Buy, Gets Busted
There's been plenty of stories in the news about criminals who have pulled some pretty foolish moves, but this one should be near the top of the list. According to the Bangor Daily News, a Rockport was arrested on drug charges after he accidentally called a police officer's number thinking that officer was a potential buyer.
On the surface, one could imagine that this was some sort of covert sting to take down a drug deal. But it wasn't. Instead, the number dialed by the drug dealer was a mistake as unfortunately for him, the number belonged to a Capitol police officer. That officer quickly understood what situation he was in, played along, and then notified the property authorities about what was set to go down.
Those authorities showed up and arrested the man. They also arrested a second person involved. Only in Maine.
