For 39 years Maine has been celebrating our local maple industry with Maine Maple Sunday. Each year at the end of March sugarhouses all across the state welcome guests to sample and see how maple syrup is made. Many will offer other fun activities, tours, and even live entertainment. The event has grown so much that some farms and sugar houses celebrate all weekend long, others all week.

There are dozens of farms throughout the state offering Maine Maple Sunday fun. The Maine Maple Producers Association put together a handy map so you can find the closest farms to you or you can plan a road trip adventure.

Bacon Farm Maple Products

A personal favorite is Bacon Maple Farm in Sidney. If you’ve ever been to The Great Windsor Fair you’re already familiar with Bacon Maple Farm as they’re the great folks behind the delicious maple ice cream that always draws a crowd at the sugarhouse at the fair. They’re celebrating all weekend long, the 26th and 27th. Be sure to try some of the maple nuts and maple cotton candy!

Pineland Farms

Pineland Farms in New Gloucester is celebrating all week long, March 21st through the 27th. Not only do they have all the maple goodness you could want but you can visit their diary barns and farmyard to meet a bunch of sweet animals too! Buy tickets and get more info here.
