CYY 25-Rustic Overtones on the CYY Patio

CYY 25. 25 of the most important CYY bands to celebrate our 25 years on the air. And amongst the Green Days, Peal Jams, and Foo Fighters of the world, we could not have a proper celebration without including Maine's own Rustic Overtones as one of CYY's most essential bands. Rustic and CYY came up together. We've been with them, and them with us, from the very start. The Rustic shows on the CYY patio are some of Portland's most iconic musical moments. We're proud to have played more local rock music than any other commercial radio station in Maine history. It was part of our mission when we started 25 years ago and still is today. Check out the local and indie every Sunday night with our man Mark Curdo!

Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly unveil some pretty cool merch to celebrate our 25th anniversary of being Portland's Alternative Rock Station. Since that moment in 1995 when we played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana as our very first song, we've always been here at One City Center playing Alt Rock and nothing BUT Alt Rock. We've never changed formats, and because of that, we're proud to be one of the longest-running Alternative stations in the country. There's not many of us left! (unfortunately)
