Insider came out with a list of the most famous bands from every state, here are the ones that are from New England.

CYY 25. 25 of the most important CYY bands to celebrate our 25 years on the air. And amongst the Green Days, Peal Jams, and Foo Fighters of the world, we could not have a proper celebration without including Maine's own Rustic Overtones as one of CYY's most essential bands. Rustic and CYY came up together. We've been with them, and them with us, from the very start. The Rustic shows on the CYY patio are some of Portland's most iconic musical moments. We're proud to have played more local rock music than any other commercial radio station in Maine history. It was part of our mission when we started 25 years ago and still is today. Come out tonite to support a Maine musician in need and a Maine band still grieving. Tonite at AURA it's the benefit for Tim Butterworth with Rustic Overtones and Anna Lombard.

We'll all be giving thanks a day early when CYY and Rustic Overtones party on Thanksgiving Eve at Port City Music Hall.

Uproxx used a variety of factors to name the artist/musicians who best represent each state in the country. Rustic Overtones were the choice for Maine.

Dave Gutter and Count Von Count of Sesame Street were guests at a taping of the locally produced The Nite Show with Danny Cashman this week. Magic happened backstage between tapings when they got together to sing "Check" with Count of course...counting.

Friday night at Port City was quite a party. Rustic Overtones showed up to play their album "Viva Nueva" in its entirety for the first time ever.
