Dustin Pedroia Played His Very Last Baseball Game In Portland

The date was May 24, 2019. Our Portland Sea Dogs were playing the Altoona Curve. No one suspected that this day would be the last time Dustin Pedroia would play as a professional baseball player. This rehab stint in Portland would be Pedey's final game. After 14 seasons, Pedroia announced his retirement from baseball this week.

It's only fitting that Pedroia would play his last ever game as a pro as a Sea Dog. he started with the Sea Dogs in 2005, where he played 66 games and had 8 home runs and 42 RBI's. Dustin went on to play for Pawtucket and then joined the Red Sox for his first full season in 2007. Not a bad year for Pedroia as he won a World Series with the Soc that year and was named MLB Rookie of the Year. He also won World Series rings with the Sox in 2013 and 2018. He spent his entire 14-year career as a member of the Red Sox. Ongoing knee injuries kept Pedroia from coming back and he announced his retirement this past week.
