Maine's Acadia National Park and other national parks in New England are offering free admission on Saturday, September 28th, because it's National Public Lands Day. The National Park Service (NPS) is actually waiving fees for the entire country for National Public Lands Day, according to USA TODAY.

Here are some national parks to discover in our listening area:

In Maine, there's Acadia National Park, which is one of the top 10 most-visited national parks in the United States, according to the National Park Service.

In New Hampshire, there's Saint-Gaudens, where you can visit the home of one of America’s greatest sculptors, Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

In Massachusetts, you'll find several national parks, including Blackstone River Valley, where you will experience the "Age of Industry". Blackstone extends into Rhode Island, per NPS.

In Vermont, you'll be able to immerse yourself in the "vibrant autumn colors" at Marsh - Billings - Rockefeller National Park.

There will be one more fee-free day this year in honor of Veterans Day on Monday, November 11th, as per USA TODAY.
