Inmate In Maine Escapes, Leads Police On High Speed Chase
According to WGME, an inmate being transported between two jails managed to escape and subsequently lead police on a high speed chase before crashing and being re-apprehended.
The Franklin County Sheriff's department announced that a prisoner who was being moved from the Androscoggin County Jail to the Franklin County Jail somehow slipped out of the transport van around 10am. From there, the prisoner stole an SUV and led police on a high speed chase until he crashed in the town of Chesterville. Police then apprehended the prisoner. The sheriff's office has not released the name of prisoner at the time of this writing.
