Westbrook Fire Department Help Trapped Raccoons Get Out of a Dumpster
This picture of a raccoon climbing out of a dumpster is the stuff that makes you want a raccoon for a pet.
The Westbrook Professional Firefighters saw that a family of raccoons were trapped in a dumpster at the fire station.
Super bummer for the raccoons. First, they find the best buffet around. All you can eat! Sure they gotta scrounge a little for the good stuff, but that's kinda their gig. But after all that feasting and it's time to get on home, it hits them...how do we get out? Jumping in was easy, but jumping out was impossible. Especially since they just stuffed themselves.
Look at that face! That is the face of someone who could use a little help. Good thing they ate their weight in Westbrook firefighter's garbage. Because that's when this story has the happiest ending. Westbrook Professional Firefighters simply did what made sense. They put a ladder in the dumpster. From there, they waited, and sure enough, these plump little adorable rodents used it.
This picture is priceless! The comments on the Westbrook Professional Firefighters Facebook page are perfect.

HIS LITTLE FACE!
All the raccoons climbed out. No one was hurt, and they consider this a successful rescue mission.
I just love this. It totally made my day better. The look on that raccoon's face as he climbs out is a mix of gratitude and embarrassment. Kudos to you, Westbrook Professional Firefighters!
