We wouldn't touch him with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

'Tis the season for all sorts of holiday hijinks, and you know what that means. It's time for the mischievous Grinch to do his dirty work by stealing presents from children and families everywhere.

In the past, the gloomy green creature has been seen roaming around New Hampshire. Last year, his plans were bamboozled after he was arrested in Londonderry. This year, he was seen at the peak of the Granite State's tallest mountain, Mount Washington.

Someone shared these photos to the Hike the 4000 footers of NH! Facebook group, featured none other than the Grinch himself posing with Cindy Lou Who in front of a sign at the mountain's summit. The caption takes inspiration from one of Dr. Seuss' memorable quotes from How the Grinch Stole Christmas!:

Maybe these mountains, the Grinch thought, aren’t just about lists and a chore. Maybe these mountains, perhaps… mean a little bit more.

We absolutely love everything about this. After all, The Grinch already lives on a snowy cliff, so the trek to the mountaintop was probably an easy feat for him. Maybe he'll take up residence at the top for the next couple weeks, where he'll resume his holiday scheming.

While he's doing that, you should check out these cozy New England towns which are especially enjoyable during the colder months.
