#1 Vacation Destination in the World is in New England

Favorite vacation destinations conjure up blue waters and tropical islands for some.  Others might think of a casino or action-packed adventure vacation.  What's your vibe for vacation?

If you live in New England, you are in luck, because RealSimple.com just announced their list of the top 2024 vacation destinations. And it wasn't in the tropics, nor in Europe, nor the northern lights, nor on a cruise ship.

Believe it or not, the most beloved travel spot for a vacation in on the coast of Maine, just over the the New Hampshire border.

This pretty location is not too far north, and a fabulous and fun town on the Seacoast which provides fun bars (yes, a piano bar), outstanding restaurants, a gorgeous beach, and a pristine cove.

The #1 travel destination is in Ogunquit, Maine. Specifically, the newly-renovated Dunes on the Waterfront is named as the top place to stay in Ogunquit. With vast front lawns rolling to the ocean, you'll feel like you're outside of reality.

Citing Ogunquit as the perfect location for miles of sandy beaches, rocky coastline, tree-lined streets, and more, this makes perfect sense for anyone who's visited this perfectly adorable New England town.

Perkins Cove is about as New England as it gets, and the town is filled with flowers just about everywhere (especially hydrangeas).  There's culture with beautiful artwork for sale, a piano bar that is quite lively, and of course, The Marginal Way to walk along the rocky coast.

It's as good as it gets for a great vacation, and not far from Boston nor Portland.
