Maine Jamaican Kitchen in South Portland Has a Menu Filled With Unique Dishes

Some of the entrees on the menu will be familiar to those who have only dabbled in Jamaican food like a jerk chicken or jerk pork meal. There's also a curry goat meal as part of the standard menu.

But the Maine Jamaican Kitchen has some other menu items that will be hard to find anywhere else. That includes their fried honey plantains, which are exactly what you think they are.

Maine Jamaican Kitchen also features a staple of snacking in Jamaica, pattys. They serve a beef patty deeply flavored with spices or a vegetable patty that eats like a flaky handheld pot pie.

Google lists Maine Jamaican Kitchen as open from 11am until 8pm Monday through Saturday.

Elevation Burger Had a Solid Run in South Portland, Maine

Elevation Burger proclaimed to be eco-friendly while serving organic burgers, thin cut fries and some incredibly delicious milkshakes.

While their Maine locations seemed to sustain, the company itself was not.
