Popular Biddeford Eatery Named One of 30 Best Diners in America

What a year it's been for the Biddeford, Maine, culinary world. From James Beard-nominated chefs to incredible write-ups from Food & Wine Magazine and others, it's truly been a year for the up-and-coming town. However, it doesn't stop there, because the small city's foodie facilities are once again in the spotlight.

Iconic lifestyle and home magazine Country Living released a list of the 30 best diners in America, and one of those just happens to be in Biddeford...a very popular diner.

Of course I'm talking the popular Palace Diner. The tiny diner joins an impressive list of iconic eateries from across the country. This is what the magazine had to see about the Palace...

Built by the Pollard Company in 1927, Palace Diner is one of three surviving Pollard diners left in America. The cozy eatery only has seating for 15 people, and is often described as one of the best diners in the country despite its equally small menu: It offers seven dishes for breakfast, and four sandwiches for lunch.

The Palace Diner is run by Greg Mitchell and Chad Conley. The two took over the diner car in 2014, and have received praise for their creative takes on diner classics. The dining car itself is an absolute gem. There's more character in that little restaurant than entire cities. It's a very unique dining experience.

I will warn that a wait is very likely, considering its size. However, Palace Diner is close to many coffee joints, bakeries, and other eclectic shops to help you pass the time while you wait. And it is well worth the wait. I can personally guarantee you that.

Congratulations to this great little diner for this latest accolade. It's always great to see national recognition for the state's small businesses, especially the one's that truly deserve it. The Palace Diner is certainly one of those.
