Rob Returns to CYY After 7 Years and Brings Music in the Mornings With Him

Hey, CYY Nation!

Holy crap, it's been a long time, but I'm back! It’s hard to believe that seven whole years have elapsed since I left the radio station. It truly does not seem that long ago.

I wanted to put a little something together to let everyone know what I’ve been up to, why I came back, and what to expect on the CYY Morning Show.

What Happened After Rob Left CYY in 2016?

After my last air shift in August 2016, I went on what I like to call “funemployment”. This is where you leave your current job and have absolutely nothing lined up for your next one.

Although I lucked out with this ballsy move, it is highly inadvisable!

After a few months of relaxing and traveling, I ended up bartending at Fore Play Sports Pub in downtown Portland. I would end up slinging drinks there for just over three years until the pandemic happened.

We all know the job of the then bartender would turn out to not be a thing for several months.

Ironically enough, I had signed up to take the Maine Real Estate Course about a month before COVID hit so when the shutdown happened, it was back to school for me!

I ended up getting my license and practicing real estate full-time with Landing Real Estate, having zero clue that I was about to head into what some call the craziest real estate market ever. If you have been in the market to buy or sell in the last few years or if you have just been keeping up on the market, you know what I’m referring to!

I have loved helping people get where they need to be and will continue to do just that.

Rob's Plans to Return to CYY

That being said, I started to get that “itch” to get back on the radio, but I hadn’t been able to find a way to get back into it without it affecting my real estate business. Well, I found a way - it just requires me to get up a little earlier in the morning!

Joey and I discussed my coming back to host the morning show and after some initial panicking of the thought of that early morning alarm, it hit me that this is how I pull it off!

I can be back on CYY for a few hours in the morning and devote the rest of my day to real estate.

What should you expect from the CYY Morning Show with Rob?

Well, the short version is MUSIC and me!

I plan on working some fun features into the show and yes, unloading tons of concert tickets and other fun giveaways. I also want YOU to get involved as well. One of my favorite things was hearing from listeners, you all have fun stories and interesting lives so I’ll be coming up with some fun topics for you to chime in on via the WCYY app.

Rob's return to CYY

My time at CYY from 2000-2016 was the best years of my life. Talking on the radio, playing classic CYY songs, introducing listeners to new artists, going to concerts, interviewing bands and hanging with listeners was the absolute best.

I’m beyond pumped to be back at it… and getting YOU involved in the CYY Morning Show.
