We get lots of different weather in Maine throughout our many seasons but we don't often see what happened in Dover-Foxcroft on Thursday afternoon.

The Dover-Foxcroft Police took to Facebook to share a strange occurrence for them. In the YMCA parking lot, a "dust devil" cranked up and created a pretty impressive funnel that witnesses claim reached about 50 feet in height. It was there and then gone within 90 seconds but it was still something to behold.

For some in Maine, the term "dust devil" is pretty foreign. NewsCenterMaine meteorologist Ryan Breton took to Twitter to explain what it is and how they come to be.

So you're not likely to see many dust devils in Maine, so behold it in all its glory.
