Ahead of what will likely prove one of its biggest recorded weekends, HBO already issued a 2017 renewal to Game of Thrones, and now its comedy companions follow suit. Not only will our beloved Veep stay in office for a sixth season, so too will Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley bumble through the tech revolution for a fourth year.

Sure, this Sunday will kick off HBO’s spring 2016 with the likes of Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley and Veep, but what of summer? Never you fear, for Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers will arrive in July, along with the long-awaited debut of Danny McBride and Walton Goggins’ new comedy Vice Principals.

Game of Thrones will peel back at least a few layers of Season 6 mystery by Sunday’s premiere, but fans may have to wait even longer to answer questions dogging the franchise for years. That said, a new promo may confirm the flashback many have been hoping for, along with a few new sneak peeks to tide us over.

Only days to go before the Season 6 premiere, Game of Thrones fans aren’t any closer to learning how quickly the series will end, especially as HBO confirmed that spinoffs were out of the question for now. That said, George R.R. Martin still has in mind the perfect choice for an extension of the franchise, which might be better served as a tie-in movie.

On the eve of Game of Thrones’ sixth season, neither HBO nor showrunners have clarified past disparity between the adapted Song of Ice and Fire series lasting seven or eight seasons, but the truth may lie somewhere in-between. Bosses believe Game of Thrones may have only 13 episodes left after Season 6, splitting them into two seasons.

It’s kind of incredible that Danny McBride is capable of essentially playing variations on the same obnoxious, narcissistic and myopic character without audiences ever growing tired of his schtick. Unlike similarly repetitive character actors, McBride continues to both amaze and amuse with his crassly inappropriate and delightfully dumb humor, and Vice Principals is no exception. HBO’s latest miniseries is a more than worthy successor to Eastbound and Down, reuniting McBride with directors Jody Hill and David Gordon Green for another devious comedy — this time set in the world of high school administration.

Game of Thrones didn’t drop too many spoilers of George R.R. Martin’s Winds of Winter by the first trailer, but the author himself has acknowledged the likelihood of some readers learning ahead of others. We don’t yet know when to expect Book 6 either, but don’t expect Martin to finish the series with A Dream of Spring ahead of its HBO counterpart, unless Game of Thrones runs upwards of 10 seasons.

Let’s face it, when Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger collaborate on a new rock drama at HBO, it’s getting a second season. Still, following an inauspicious start in the ratings, Vinyl has been confirmed for a second season to air in 2017, just one episode into its run.

HBO had plenty to announce by the recent TCA press tour (as well to keep quiet), and now some more good news has flown in under the wire. The network has handed a series order to a ‘70s New York porn drama from The Wire creator David Simon, rounded out by James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. No, we’ve made none of this up.

HBO Now is good for many things: for catching up on those shows you’ve been missing, for watching films exclusively airing on the premium network (including pretty much all the Police Academy movies, if that’s your thing, sure), for using your parents’ password to take advantage of their disposable income… But there’s something else the streaming service has that you won’t find anywhere else: a seven-hour cut of the first two Godfather films, edited in chronological order. If you have the day off, now might be a good time to indulge in such a thing.
