As the weather gets warmer, we are all looking forward to the possibility to getting back to the activities and and adventures come along with it.

Unfortunately with the current unpredictability of when it will be safe for folks gather again, a longtime favorite summer local attraction has understandably announced that they will not be opening in May.

The legendary amusement and water park said this in the post

"Our highest priority has always been, and remains, the safety of all our Team Members and Guests. We are closely monitoring and following the guidelines set forth by Federal, State, and local government officials, along with the U.S. and Maine Centers for Disease Control. Due to the statewide shutdown of non-essential workplaces during the month of April, we now know we will not be able to open the Park as previously scheduled on May 9, 2020."

Looks like some good news for season pass holders in the statement on Facebook as they will be able to use any days lost in 2020 toward 2021.

"To our valued season pass holders, we want to thank you for your support of the park. To reaffirm our commitment to you, Funtown Splashtown USA will be extending your 2020 season passes into the 2021 season the same number of days that you have missed out on because of this delayed opening. This will be done automatically and requires no action on your part."

Here's the full official message from the their Facebook page.

Let's all sing along with the the wicked awesome jingle and look forward to summertime in Maine again someday with our friends and family at Funtown Splashtown USA. When that's safe to do again, we'll be sure to help get the word out.
