Rave ‘N’ Rage – Live Music on the Weekend of 2/8/2019
Hey CYY Freaks! Seeing as Valentine's Day is supposed to see Maine buried under a bunch of snow, it might be a good idea to get your celebrations in early. Might I recommend taking the opportunity to see some live music? If you're into it, here are some good shows for you and your special someone to hit up this weekend!
THURSDAY 2/7
The Brother Brothers
One Longfellow Square (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$20 Day of Show
All Ages
- As the name suggests, these guys are indeed brothers. They make some great music together, too! The duo's use of both guitar and fiddle gives a rich, yet minimalist sound. Definitely worth checking out!
FRIDAY 2/8
Alex Roy Band
Mixers Night Club & Lounge (Sabattus)
8:30pm Music
Free
21+
- Alex Roy has been playing music in mMaine for years - first with Sparks the Rescue and Holly Heist, and now he's breaking out on his own to play some cover songs and originals. Fingers crossed we get a Sparks tune or two in there!
SATURDAY 2/9
Twin Grizzly, OXEN, Pigboat
Geno’s Rock Club (Portland)
8:30pm Doors / 9:00pm Music
$8 Tickets
21+
- For fans of pre-skinny jean hardcore, this is the show for you. Twin Grizzly has a fun yet ferocious sound, and OXEN and Pigboat are bound to provide some seriously heavy sets too.
SUNDAY 2/10
Lez Zeppelin
Port City Music Hall (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$18 Advance / $20 Day of Show
18+
- For whatever reason, women always seem to do a better job of recreating Robert Plant's signature howl than men do. Thats why Lez Zeppelin, an all female Zep cover band, sounds so killer. For rock fans from every era!
