Simones’ Hot Dog Stand Gets Honored With Hot Dog Crosswalks
Simones' Hot Dog Stand in Lewiston is part of my family history and a large part of the history in Lewiston. My grandfather started the restaurant in Lewiston in 1908 and it's still going strong 108 years later.
My dad, Nestor and his brother George, had owned the restaurant for many years. My dad sold his share of the restaurant to his brother in the early 1970's. My cousin Jimmy and his wife Linda and son George now own and work at the restaurant.
Simones' Hot Dog Stand has been a tradition in downtown Lewiston for 108 years and the city shows the restaurant some love by changing two crosswalks near the Hot Dog stand from the standard stripes to hot dogs!
