Our hero is back! Mark Curdo is staying on the WCYY airwaves for 100 hours to help raise money for the Center for Grieving Children. Mark won't leave the studio all week and he's been doing it that way for 12 years. Mark was quarantining before quarantining was cool. Nothing stops Mark and Markathon!

A killer online auction and last but not least...your CRAZY Markathon requests. During Markathon, WCYY throws the usual Alternative Rock format out the window and plays anything in the world for a donation to the Center. And the results? An all-time high $80,000 donated. Thank you!

YOU did it again for Markathon. This year was one of the all-time great Markathons. Your CRAZY requests and the inspiring stories from families of the Center for Grieving Children all showed what the power of music, family, and community can do. We hit a new record high for Markathon this year. Thank you to all who donated with song requests and bid in the online auction.

Markathon 2019 started (appropriately) with "Back In The Saddle" from Aerosmith and ended with Failure "Stuck On You." In between, there was Country, Hip Hop, Christmas music, and more. Mark will play ANY song in the WORLD for your donation to the Center for Grieving Children. We've thrown the CYY Alternative Rock format right out the window for this great cause. What song will YOU come up with?

You can buy them in person at the Scarborough Bull Moose. Anyone who wants one from another location can order it and usually it’s shipped out and arrived in 24 hours. People can also order them online at bullmoose.com and Bull Moose will ship them out. 100% of the sales, of course, go to the Center.

The coolest thing about Markathon is that we throw the usual CYY playlist out the window and let you program the radio station with your requests and donations. It really is the best week of radio in Portland every year! Every genre, every era, great songs and horribly great songs all make it on the air.

What a week! Markathon Friends and Family is in the books. Our final total: $37,000. WOW! Every penny goes to the Center for Grieving Children. Over the many Markathons, we've raised close to $300,000 for the Center... one song at a time...

It was another amazing day on Markathon "Friends and Family" yesterday with us going over the $20,000 mark! Thanks for all your great requests. We've still got a day to go so if you have not made your request yet, well, now it's GO TIME...
