'Tis the season—time to embrace the spine-chilling thrills of Damnationland. The annual showcase of Maine-made horror films is back at the State Theatre this Friday night.

Just because the leaves are changing doesn’t mean your concert calendar has to. From our awesome indoor venues and even a few outdoor shows left, the 4th quarter of 2024 is looking to be a solid roster for all live music tastes.

20 years ago this month, some memorable concerts that you may have gone to went down here in our great state of Maine.

Putting this list together confirmed two things: time goes by way too fast, and Portland had (and still has) a wide variety of bands coming through our city.

The Foo Fighters were blowing up at the time, to the point that the days of playing smaller venues would shortly be behind them, but not until they rocked Portland, Maine, at the State Theatre.

The concert calendar here in Maine always has events on it, but once spring hits, you typically start to see those empty slots fill up quickly for the warmer months.

Singer Brian Aubert's signature vocal style combined with the bands high energy performance and the perfect light show are all contributing factors of why fans always make it a point to see this band live whenever they are in the hood.
