The Foo Fighters were blowing up at the time, to the point that the days of playing smaller venues would shortly be behind them, but not until they rocked Portland, Maine, at the State Theatre.
I was going through my ticket stub collection recently – yep, big nerd alert – and noticed that the State Theatre was poppin’ with some big shows in the spring of 2012. People were done with winter, ready to get out of the house, and the State gave us plenty to do.
Time certainly does go by at a quicker pace than most of us would prefer. For example, twenty-two years ago, Breaking Benjamin hit Portland, Maine, for the first time, opening for Saliva at the legendary State Theatre.

There are a select few bands that continually come back to Maine to perform live every few years, Silversun Pickups are always showing Portland the love. As far as the show itself, they bring it every time. Singer Brian Aubert's signature vocal style combined with the bands high energy performance and the perfect light show are all contributing factors of why fans always make it a point to see this band live whenever they are in the hood.
