Is the title of vacationland misleading?

There's that old saying that "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Unfortunately, that does not apply to tourists who have visited Portland's Old Port in the last year or so. If you visit Trip Advisor, you'll find that most of the reviews for the Old Port rate as excellent or very good...

The jokes are endless... "If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot 'em..." You've heard them all. Chances are, you've also heard some pretty ridiculous questions coming from people "from away," and you've probably rolled your eyes when you see them pulled over on the highway.

It's pretty easy to get sucked into reading tourists reviews of some of the Maine towns we call home or visit each and every year. We tackled what TripAdvisor deems to be "terrible" reviews of the summer destination known as Old Orchard Beach...
