Even though we all knew the day would eventually come, the news of Tom Brady’s retirement was still a shock to many people.  Of course, last year’s retirement announcement was a shock, too.  And, so was his announcement in 2020 that he would be leaving the Patriots.

Apparently, Tom Brady just loves to shock us.

Of course, if you follow sports (or, you just follow the life of Tom Brady), you probably know that back in the spring of 2022, he signed a MASSIVE $375 million, ten-year, deal with Fox Sports.  The idea was that, once he retired from the NFL (for good), he would start working as a sports broadcaster.

But, what if he took a different path post-retirement?

Instead of staying in the spotlight as a sports broadcaster.  What if he decided to move to Maine and live a simpler life?

We’d LOVE to see the GOAT bail on his Fox Sports plans and move to Maine, instead.  And, we think he’d be great at these jobs.

Lobsterman

Clearly, Brady loves spending time on the water.  We ALL saw the videos of that Bucs boat parade!  And, he’ll definitely get his workout in hauling in those traps filled with lobsters.  He is also financially secure, so he’ll have no problem paying his licensing fees and keeping his boat maintained.

Acadia National Park / Baxter State Park Ranger

Again, he is athletic, so he would have no problem with all of the walking and hiking involved in the job.  He is also very charismatic and well spoken, so he would be great at dealing with the millions of visitors, many from other countries, who visit our parks every year.

Teacher

Like many places, our state needs more good teachers.  Don’t get me wrong, nearly all of our teachers are amazing people who go above and beyond to educate our kids.  But, we could always use more teachers.  Even if he only worked as a substitute teacher.  Can you imagine how shocked you’d be if you walked into math class and, instead of seeing Mr. Perry, you saw TB12 sitting at the desk?  Yeah, that’d be cool!

Potato Farmer

Despite the fact that Idaho makes a big deal about their potatoes, everyone knows that the best potatoes in the world come from Aroostook County.  We could definitely see Tom Brady riding a John Deer tractor, blasting Jason Aldean’s “Fly Over States”.

Celebrity Fitness Coach

In addition to working out, A LOT, Tom Brady is also known for being very conscious of what he eats.  And, he wouldn’t want to get training from a pro-athlete?  He’d probably not have very many clients if he moved to Northern Maine, but there have got to be plenty of potential clients in the Portland area

Financial Planner

We think he’d make a great financial planner for a number of reasons.  First, he has a trustworthy face.  And, on top of that, he has some experience.  Well, sort of…  He spent a couple of summers as an intern for Merrill Lynch

Contractor / House Flipper

He definitely has the build to be in the construction business.  And, after pushing himself in over twenty seasons in the NFL, he would probably enjoy the more leisurely pace of house flipping.  Sure, you want to get the job done so you can sell the house, but there is no crazy timeline, either.
