The reoccurring battle of "which state has the best pizza" has been resolved. I don't know. If Dave Portnoy says it, I'm believing it.

These ones felt like staples in the community that would never really go away.. until they did.

In 2023 Barstool's Dave Portnoy finally gave Portland, Maine their chance at pizza fame and reviewed Flatbread, Slab, Pizzaiolo, Monte's, Miccuci's, and Belleville. Only one was my favorite and it's heartbreakingly no longer open.

I'm going to raffle off 3 of some of the most popular foods in Maine. The locals will immediately understand their significance to the state and then I'm gonna simply rank them and see if you get mad at me.

You know what's so interesting? I put this exact status up on our Q97.9's Facebook thinking that so many people were going to comment on how much they miss getting a sloppy, late night slice at Bill's Pizza in Portland. I think I was wrong?

Jessica & Brandon Tenney, the owners of the already popular Truckin' Pizza truck are excited to take over the empty space that was once Slab Sicilian Street Food on Preble St. in Portland.

Portnoy flew into this little city and gave Monte's Market a 8.4 out of 10. If you're familiar with his infamous pizza reviews from all around the world, then you know this is an abnormally high score.

He gave the place a 8.4 out of 10 score, and according to newscentermaine, Monte's ranks in the top 100 out of all 1,568 pizza reviews Portnoy had done by the time of that visit. I just have one other opinion on this list.

I always love to see Maine, New Hampshire or really any New England cities being mentioned by Portnoy. I found this Tik Tok clip where he named a few New England cities that in his eyes are amongst the top five in the world.

Portnoy's most recent chaotic activity happened in a place you may be familiar with: Nantucket, Massachusetts.
