While New England is filled with great tourist communities, there is no doubt that one of the most iconic is the Mount Washington Valley.

Located at the base of Mount Washington, the area is home to attractions like Story Land, the Saco River, the Mount Washington Auto Road, and some of the best skiing east of the Mississippi River.

And, given the number of visitors the area gets each year, it just makes sense that the tight-knit mountain community would be home to some of the best dining and lodging options in New England.

Of all the restaurants in the area, one of the most well-known (internationally known, really) is Delaney's Hole In The Wall.

Operated by Dick Delaney, and his family, this restaurant has been serving up great meals for over a quarter century.

Some of the highlights from the menu include the burgers, the ribs, the pizzas and, believe it or not, their fries.  Plus, Delaney's was the first place in the area to offer sushi on a daily basis.

Additionally, it is the area's premiere sports bar.  It has, for years, been the go-to place to watch the Red Sox, Pats, Bruins, and Celtics.

In fact, in the past, they have even done special events surrounding the opening day of the season, etc.

Anyone who steps through the doors of the restaurant knows instantly that the establishment is locally owned and operated.  Local skiing and sports memorabilia adorn every inch of wall space.  Signage, team photos, posters, pictures of local sports legends, newspaper clippings, and more.

Why does it sound like I am in love with this restaurant?  Well...  As a person who spent over a decade living in the area, I am a little biased.  However, it is the truth!  I have always felt that the people who live in the area are a little spoiled by the great dining options they have access to on a daily basis.
